A Message from the Chief Executive Officer:
Hampton Roads Community Health Center is pleased to extend a warm welcome to you on this 20th year celebration as a federally qualified community health center. Through the years, Hampton Roads Community Health Center (HRCHC) has been successful at providing affordable, quality primary health care services, to the residents of the South Hampton Roads Community.
Since its designation, HRCHC has demonstrated a solid history of expanding and growing with five medical locations, two dental sites, and two mobile dental vans. Along with facility growth, our scope of services has also enlarged by adding school-based dental care, in-house behavioral health evaluations and personal foot care. HRCHC’s has been fully accredited with The Joint Commission since 1999. After converting an electronic health records system in 2011, we have now achieved Patient Center Medical Home (PCMH) recognition by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) at all sites.
At full operational capacity, HRCHC employees 14 full/part time primary care providers, 3 dentists, two dental hygienists, and one behavioral health provider. In 2014 these outstanding individuals served 11,917 patients and generated close to 31,000 patient visits. Along with our growth in staff and facilities, our annual budget increased from $4.3 million in 2003 to $7.9 million dollars as of today.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to thank all of our community partners, who over the years have supported Hampton Roads Community Health Center through grants, donations and including us as a line item in their budgets. Our vision for the future is to be a dynamic safety net organization who always deliver excellent healthcare, outreach, and educational services to everyone in the South Hampton Roads community, regardless of their ability to pay.
